Different (Like Everyone Else)
“Nobody’s impressed with a spot on Jimmy’s guest list, and all of your meaningless lyrics.” So goes Different (Like Everyone Else), a biting, anthemic comeback from Manchester-based four-piece The Recreation.
Blending all the raw cheek of 70s artists like Roxy Music with contemporary indie rock influences, Different seeks lyrically to address the serious lack of authenticity in today’s rock ‘n’ roll scene. Sonically, these Northern, working class stoners tease a glam classic coated in punk, psych grit.
The long-awaited return of The Recreation sees the lads cement their sound after a lengthy lockdown period drawing on an eclectic range of influences from dub reggae to glam rock, in order to create something totally unique to themselves.
