Uno Mas Brunswick Mill Studios

There’s only one answer when UNO MAS ask their fans, baptised over lockdown as The Massive, do you believe? The answer of course...

Manifesting from the frustrations built up over lockdown ‘We Believe’ is a fast paced, high energy invitation albeit cultish directive to join The Massive. Influenced by pop rock the track features a heavy rhythm section that drives the song underneath an aggressive and almost chaotic lead guitar and synth line. The lyrics on paper create a sense of false comfort but the hypnotic way in which they are sung quickly highlights the clear ulterior meaning behind both them and the track, leaving the listener addicted and quickly reloading the song after its conclusion well and truly new members of The Massive.

We Believe’ is the fifth track from the Manchester quartet and the second time in the studio this year with Sugar House after releasing ‘Glue in March to critical acclaim and receiving radio play on Radio X, Amazing Radio, XS Manchester, and BBC Introducing Merseyside and the band are continuing where they have left off. Fuelled by the desire to get back on stage and the self-assertive presence of ‘We Believe’ the band cannot wait to debut this track in front of a live crowd – expect three minutes of bouncing around and being out of breath by the end of this one!

Hailing out of Greater Manchester, UNO MAS have taken a firm grip of their local indie scene. The band, made up of Olly (lead vocals/guitar), Dan (guitar), Tomo (bass/backing vocals), and Lew (drums/backing vocals) create a fast paced, exciting sound with catchy lyrics and memorable melodies fusing together inspiration from multiple genres including pop, indie, rock, and even bringing in aspects of electronic music into their writing style. Their charisma and stage presence accompanied by a love of a party creates an upbeat and bouncing atmosphere sure to leave fans with a smile on their face, and songs stuck in their heads.

Debuting to a packed-out local festival, UNO MAS have continued to leave sold out stickers in their wake. Three major support slots with bands including Paris Youth Foundation and Man & The Echo led the band to announcing their own debut headline show at Manchester’s The Deaf Institute. Not uninfluenced by the woes of lockdown it was no surprise the sold-out banner, now accustomed with the band, appeared 3 months in advance with rumours floating around of a bigger venue on the cards for 2022.

Taking time over lockdown to focus on their recorded music the band recently released their fourth single Glue. Immediately receiving rave reviews and support from Jim Salveson at Radio XS Manchester and featuring on the day time playlist, the track was later picked up by John Kennedy and received its first national play on Radio X on release day. Glue follows singles; Don’t You Know, Glass Houses, and live staple piece Bored, a personal favourite of Dave Monks at BBC Radio Introducing North West who continues to support the band through regular radio play.

Whilst music may be the band’s first love, during
the pandemic the lads found a talent for podcasting, setting up The MAS Cast. Starting as an interactive vlog of their Friday night p*ss up TMC has gone from strength to strength featuring guests including Freeda’s Sean Rowles and Radio X presenter Jack Wood. Series 2 has just come to a conclusion with series 3 predicted to start in Autumn 2021 with a new sponsorship backing from All About the Music TV and Fab Song TV proving the band with weekly television exposure and Lions Den Manchester gifting the use of a new state of the art podcast studio. It can be expected to be a step up from series 2 with high quality production and even more great guests.
